How Disunion to New Nations Will Start

In the last post, I showed what I think would be the best disunion plan for the USA.

Now I am going to describe how this plan will begin.

There are three nations in the plan that would have a strong bias ideologically (West, Central, and Northeast), and two “swing” nations (Great Lakes, Southeast). The former are the key, because they are 40 of the 51 existing states (including DC), and there will be lots of support there for disunion.

I am going to be blunt about this…
The key to why things will improve radically for progressives after this disunion plan is implemented is because the most strongly ideological nation of the five proposed can be separated from the other four, making the other four no longer threatened with a looming right wing dictatorship.

So, I will talk about it right away…

This new Central US nation, must be a new independent one, or disunion won’t benefit progressives in the rest of the United States. Even if these 20 states are the only ones to break away, leaving the other 30 states plus the District of Columbia intact as the current US, the governability of those 30 + DC will increase dramatically. Just look again at the numbers: Just 5% of their Senators and 20% of their House members are Democrats! They are SO EXTREMELY deep red!

The conservative Republicans there already favor secession more than any other group in America. This is SO fortunate.

The problem for progressives is almost none of us live there, so we can’t get the ball rolling for their secession.

That is why I say the governors of the fifteen bluest states need to announce their own plan to secede, and announce in their own “friendly” way that they fully support the reddest states in America also forming their own new country.

The fifteen governors are all in either the west or the northeast, so they will be proposing initially three of the five new nations –West, Central, and Northeast. They are already 15 of the 20 governors of the West (8) plus the Northeast (11 plus DC).

Then what will happen with the remaining eleven states is this:

Since they are purple, unlike in the other 40 plus DC states, their citizens will not be fired up about disunion, because it won’t change much. -They will still be at each other’s throats.

But disunion will not harm them, and it will benefit them because ideological residents there will be able to move to any of the three more ideological countries to be in a place where broad support for the new federal governments will make those governments really responsive like the government of the US once was. In other words, moving would not just get them among like-minded people, but it would put them under the governance of a new effective federal government too.

So the 10 states will either just remain as the remnant of the formerly 50-state US, or, since these states are in two non-adjacent regions, they will form the last two of the five nations, Great Lakes and Southeast.
